Turtle Hatchery & Conservation Center Habaraduwa Sri Lanka is home to a diverse array of sea turtle species. Among the most commonly found are the Green Turtle, the Hawksbill Turtle, and the Olive Ridley Turtle. These species use the island’s sandy beaches for nesting and are an important part of the region’s marine ecosystem. Upon arrival in turtle hatchery Habaraduwa, the guide will take you to visit the turtle conservation and feel free to taking photos during turtle conservation tour. Here you will have a chance to learn more about the life cycle of sea turtle and how the local community conserve the turtle until they ready to be release to the ocean. If coming in the right time you will see the releasing program that held by local turtle conservation community. Inside the conservation park you also get the opportunity to play with sea turtle from the big size and the new little hatchling turtle. Get your great picture with family or couple while handling the sea turtle carefully.

Sri Lanka has implemented several conservation efforts to protect its sea turtle populations. These include establishing hatcheries along the coast to safeguard eggs from predators and poachers. Despite its natural predators, humans are the biggest threat to the sea turtle in Sri Lanka. Under Sri Lanka’s Fauna and Flora Protection Ordinance, it is prohibited to kill, wound, or harm a turtle. Furthermore, turtle possession or sale, as well as taking or destroying turtle eggs is a federal offense. Unfortunately, activities harming these marine dwellers continue.
